The Kathmandu District Court has found Supreme Court employee Mahiman Bista guilty of forging an arrest warrant for Resham Chaudhary. 

The district court has found Bista guilty of a document-related offense. The bench of Judge Khimananda Bhusal pronounced the guilty verdict. Bista had written a letter on his own on 17 Baisakh 2081 and sent it to the police office to arrest Chaudhary, the patron of the Civil Liberation Party. While the case was pending, Chaudhary was arrested on the basis of the letter he wrote and released a few hours later. 

The court had sentenced Chaudhary to life imprisonment due to the incident that took place in Tikapur in Bhadra 2072. However, he was released from Dillibazaar Jail on 15 Jestha 2080 on the basis of a general amnesty granted by the government on the occasion of Republic Day. After that, a case was filed against Bista on a document-related offense based on Chaudhary's own complaint. His sentence will be decided after another hearing. Chaudhary arrested  The merger of Janmat and Nagarik Unmukti Party was scheduled for the day. After the arrest of Chaudhary, the patron of Nagarik Unmukti Party (NAUPA), the merger announcement program itself was postponed. But after about five hours, the mystery of Bista's arrest was revealed by sending a letter, not the court. Bista, who was a branch officer of the Supreme Court's Cases and Writ Division, had unofficially overturned the amnesty decision previously made by President Ram Chandra Poudel. Bista was immediately taken into custody by the police.
