The Gulf countries have become restless after Iran attacked American military bases and fuel infrastructures one after another. This has also had a direct impact on Nepali workers there. Due to insecurity, all Nepalis who wanted to return home and wanted to come home on vacation are stuck at their workplaces. Due to the lack of regular air routes, it is becoming difficult to reach Nepal from Gulf countries and from Nepal to other countries including the Gulf.

How can one easily return to Nepal from the Gulf? We had asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this question. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed that there are some limited routes available for Nepalis who want to return home. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, those who want to return to Nepal due to emergencies should first contact the Nepali embassy or consulate in the country where they are staying. Only then is it appropriate to determine their travel route. Currently, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah international airports in the UAE are partially operational.

It is possible to travel to Nepal directly or through transit elsewhere from here. Although there are no regular flights from Riyadh and Dammam airports in Saudi Arabia, you can travel directly or through transit from here. Direct flights from Qatar are limited. From there, you can only take a flight by reaching Saudi Arabia or the UAE using a land route.

Direct flights to Nepal from Kuwait are also limited. But for the last three weeks, Kuwait-Kathmandu-Kuwait flights have been suspended. Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways had been flying to Nepal from Kuwait. From there, you have to travel by land to Saudi or UAE airports. Currently, flights from Bahrain are very difficult. There is no direct Bahrain-Nepal flight. Therefore, those who want to return to Nepal from Bahrain have to reach Saudi or Dubai by land and take an international flight.

Oman's Muscat Airport is open. Limited flights are being operated from there to Indian cities. You can return to Nepal via transit from there. There is little possibility of direct flights from Iraq. You can return to Nepal only by reaching Saudi Arabia or the UAE using land routes.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged those who wish to return to any country due to emergencies to contact the nearest embassy or mission. Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lok Bahadur Chhetri said that the embassy will inform those who come in contact about available flights, transit routes and necessary documents and will provide necessary facilitation.
