The remains of a dog named 'Chimpu', which had been missing since February 10, have been found near Manjushree Park in Chobhar.
According to the dog's owner, Raghu Aditya, a resident of Imadol, Lalitpur, the dog's bones, tail and legs were found separately in the area around 4 pm on Wednesday. Given the circumstances of the incident, he estimates that the chimpu may have been attacked by a leopard.
After the chimpu went missing, Aditya had made the information public on social media and launched a search campaign with the help of animal welfare workers and volunteers. The K-9 unit of the Nepal Police was also mobilized to find the chimpu. Aditya had also announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for anyone who finds the chimpu.
Aditya had rescued the chimpu from the Imadol road in Asoj 2072 and had been raising it at home. Referring to Chimpu's tragic end, he said, "I didn't want it to end like this, but it did."
