The commission of inquiry formed to investigate the incidents that took place on 23 and 24 Bhadra has completed the task of taking statements.
The commission had taken a written statement from the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday. Commission spokesperson Vigyanraj Sharma said that the sequence of statements is now nearing completion. The commission has taken statements from the police deployed in the field, Gen-G representatives, and the Prime Minister. The commission has also sent written questions to former Prime Ministers Sher Bahadur Deuba and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, giving them a week's deadline, but they have not received a response.

What will be the next work ?
The inquiry commission formed on 5 Ashoja under the leadership of former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki was initially given a deadline of 3 months. The government has extended it by one month after the time ran out. The deadline is till 5 Magh. The commission is yet to take statements. After taking statements, the commission will start writing its report from today. Commission spokesperson Vigyanraj Sharma said that the work has now been completed within the deadline.
On the recommendation of the commission itself, the then Prime Minister Oli and the then Home Minister Lekhak were banned from traveling abroad and leaving the Kathmandu Valley without permission. The deadline has been extended in the case of Lekhak, while a decision is being made today in the case of Oli.
The commission is preparing to do some work in the 10-point agreement signed between Gen-G and the government on 24 Mangsari, as the scope of the inquiry commission has been expanded. The agreement states that, ‘taking into account the principles of investigation, truth-telling and reconciliation, and adopting appropriate procedures, the nature of the people’s movement and the specific circumstances of 23 and 24 Bhadra will be considered, and the incidents that occurred during the people’s movement and the violent acts committed by other individuals or groups with criminal intent in a well-planned and organized manner will be investigated and a report will be submitted without prejudice.’
The agreement was approved by the Council of Ministers on 25 Mangs. The Commission has stated that work is also underway on the added jurisdiction.
