The Madhesi, Tharu and Muslim Commissions have jointly appealed to maintain mutual harmony and friendship among all religious communities, as activities that disrupt religious tolerance have been observed in some parts of the Terai Madhesh for some time now.

On Monday alone, the government has directed the administration and police to implement a special plan to maintain religious harmony. Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal and Secretary to the Ministry of Home Affairs Rajkumar Shrestha held a virtual meeting with the Chief District Officers of 21 districts and the heads of security agencies in the districts on Monday and directed them to bring anyone who disrupts social and cultural harmony under the ambit of action.
