The Armed Police Force has launched an investigation into the death of 45-year-old Vijay Sah of Puri Tole, Koshi Rural Municipality-1, Sunsari.
Sah, who was driving an auto rickshaw, died after being shot by a team of the Armed Police Force on Wednesday midnight. After that, locals protested all day on Thursday demanding fair justice in the incident.
After that, a three-member investigation committee has been formed under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rabinraj Karnajit of the Armed Police Force Headquarters.
‘The committee includes SP Dinesh Basnet of Koshi Province No. 1 Bahini and DSP Bhuwan Bhandari of the Armed Police Force’s Legal Directorate,’ said DSP Shailendra Thapa, joint spokesperson of the Armed Police Force. ‘The committee has been given the responsibility of investigating the facts and submitting a report as soon as possible.’
Meanwhile, the Armed Police Force Barah Bahini Pakali is going to recall the unit including Police Inspector Manish Kumar Katuwal of BOP Laukahi. The team will be called back after the postmortem report of the deceased is received and the last rites are performed, informed DIG Kumar Neupane of Barah Bahini Pakali.
