The Commission of Inquiry into the incidents of 23 and 24 Bhadra has prepared to issue a letter to the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for a statement.

Speaking to media persons after discussions with Prime Minister Sushila Karki at Singha Durbar on Thursday, Commission Chairman Karki informed that preparations are underway to call Oli, who is also the UML Chairman, for a statement. 

'We are in the process of calling Oli. If he does not come, tomorrow's matter will be decided tomorrow. We are writing a letter to him,' said Chairman Karki. 

He also informed that the statement of then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has been completed. Chairman Karki also said that the term of the Commission has been extended by one month and that the work will be completed and the report will be submitted to the government within a month.  

The Commission took a statement from Lekhak on Monday and Wednesday. Now only the statement of then Prime Minister Oli remains. There is a plan to call Oli for a statement after giving him about a week's time. The Commission has also said that a question paper has been prepared for him.

The Commission, formed on 5 Ashoja under the leadership of former Justice Gauri Bahadur Karki, started taking statements from security personnel deployed in the field on 23 and 24 Bhadra after collecting details.

In this process, the statements of the then Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, the then Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi, the Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel, the IGP of Nepal Police Dan Bahadur Karki, the then IGP Chandrakuber Khapung, the IGP of the Armed Police Force Raju Aryal, and the then Chief of the National Investigation Department Hutraj Thapa were taken.

After the statements of the responsible officials of the security agencies and administrative bodies, the commission turned to the political leadership.
