The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has expressed its interest in Prime Minister Sushila Karki regarding the implementation status of the agreement reached between the government and various groups of Gen-G.

During the meeting between the office bearers of the Nepali Congress Party (NCP) including Ravi Lamichhane and the Prime Minister on Sunday, the issue of the implementation of the agreement reached between the government and Gen-G was discussed, said Sobita Gautam, a member of the NCP secretariat.

Informing reporters about the discussions with Prime Minister Karki, NCP secretariat member Gautam said that the party is interested in the implementation of the agreement reached between the government and Gen-G on November 24. 'We had many discussions with the Prime Minister on issues related to the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24. In that, friends from the Gen-G age group also made agreements with the government. What is the status of the implementation of the issues raised in that agreement and what is the government currently doing to implement those agreements?' Gautam said.

Stating that the Karki-led government has received the mandate to hold elections to the House of Representatives, Gautam informed that the government should work to complete the elections. The constitution stipulates that one should be 25 years of age to become a candidate for the House of Representatives, but while the Gen-G age group is raising questions like why not at 21? Why not at 18? She informed that there was also a discussion on what can be done to amend the constitution in the future and set the age limit for becoming a candidate for MP at 21. 'We talked about how that issue can be included in the discussions of the Constitution Amendment Task Force and how we can ensure that we can participate in the federal elections at 21 in the coming days,' she said.

Gautam said that he had informed the ministers along with the Prime Minister about the role being played by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to prevent a political crisis in the country and the party's preparations for the election.

Gautam informed that Prime Minister Karki had been informed about the return of Rabi Lamichhane as the party president. 'Today's dialogue with the Prime Minister and ministers: We formally informed the government that President Lamichhane has officially assumed office in the party. We considered it our responsibility to inform the government from a political perspective,' Gautam said.

She informed that the issue of 'excessive prosecution' of President Lamichhane in the past due to political vendetta was also raised with the Prime Minister. She also said that Prime Minister Karki and the ministers of the current government had made statements in the past that political vendetta was committed against Lamichhane and that the government had jurisdiction over it and was urged to correct the issue.

Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel were present on behalf of the government in the meeting along with Prime Minister Karki. On behalf of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), President Lamichhane was accompanied by Vice President DP Aryal, Swarnim Wagle, General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, Secretariat members Gautam and Shishir Khanal.
