The Council of Ministers meeting has given the commission an additional month to investigate the incident and submit a report.
The government has extended the term of the inquiry commission formed to investigate the incidents of use of force during the Gen-G movement, including the incident. The cabinet meeting has given the commission an additional month to investigate the incident and submit a report.
The commission, which is coordinated by former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki, includes former AIG of Nepal Police, Vigyanraj Sharma, and legal scholar Bishweshwor Prasad Bhandari.
The government had given a three-month time to investigate the incidents including the use of force in the Gen-G movement while forming the commission on 5 Ashoja. But the commission has not completed its work yet. The government has given an additional month after the commission failed to complete its work within the stipulated time. The commission has already recorded the statements of most of the people involved in the incident. However, it has not been able to record the statements of the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
