After a flight could not take off from Bhairahawa Airport due to thick fog, Rabi Lamichhane, the president of the National Independent Party and the then managing director of Gorkha Media, is about to leave for Butwal via Bharatpur.

In the cooperative fraud case, a bench of Justices Vasudev Acharya and Tej Narayan Poudel of the Butwal bench of the Tulsipur High Court had overturned the district court's order of 26th Shrawan and ordered the release of Lamichhane on condition that he be given a bank bail of the amount of the amount. The court had ordered that Lamichhane should appear in person at the Rupandehi District Court to be released. He was in the Nakkhu Jail in Lalitpur and was scheduled to come to Bhairahawa for that purpose. Lamichhane, who was trying to go to Bhairahawa on Friday morning, was stopped at the Tribhuvan Airport in Kathmandu. He reached the airport before 7 am and was going to go to Butwal by car via Bharatpur Airport as the weather in Bhairahawa did not improve till noon. Lamichhane is leaving Kathmandu for Butwal via Bharatpur at around 2 pm, said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Ganesh Parajuli.  Lamichhane is scheduled to appear at the Rupandehi District Court on Friday to complete the process of his release from custody. Activists have been waiting outside the district court premises and Gautam Buddha International Airport since morning.
