Financial assistance has been received for 90-year-old Gori Sarki of Tripurasundari Municipality-1. After the news was published on Mangsir 30 in the 'Household Expenses' column of Ikantipur under the headline 'There is no food for tomorrow, nor clothes to change', a cash assistance of Rs. 50,175 was received.

Financial support has been raised from across the country and abroad at the initiative of Laxman Karki, who works at Shangri-La Development Bank in Kathmandu. Karki said that the amount was deposited in his account at Machhapuchhre Bank in Dolpa. Karki said that the support was raised so that Gori could make her life a little easier.

Sarki has a family of his own and a son. Since his son is disabled, he is struggling to make ends meet. Earlier, after appealing for support through social media, the 60,964 rupees raised have been deposited in Sarki's account.
