Durga Prasai, who was arrested from Bhaktapur on Monday night, will be investigated for a crime against public peace. According to Yadav Poudel, spokesperson for the District Attorney's Office, Kathmandu, Prasai's statements will be investigated for this crime as they are of a nature to affect public peace.
‘He will be produced before the District Court, Kathmandu and remanded for further investigation today,’ said Poudel. Prasai had been saying since November 7 that he would start a movement to restore the monarchy and Hindu nation by shutting down the country.
The security apparatus had taken notice of his recent statement that he could bomb embassies by naming them and blaming them.
In the Central Security Committee meeting held on Sunday, the issue of bringing him under the ambit of action was also raised. After that, the meeting decided to take strict legal action to eliminate those who incite violence and terrorize the people.
After this, the arrested Prasai will be questioned by the investigation officers about his statements. He will also be questioned about the basis of his violent statements.
