Nepal Rastra Bank signs agreement with Chinese company to print 420 million 50-denomination notes

Nepal Rastra Bank has signed a contract with a Chinese company for the design, printing and supply of 420 million rupee 50 banknotes.

 

The Rastra Bank has signed the agreement with the company ‘Bank Note Printing and Minting Corporation, Beijing, China’, which was selected through a bidding process to print the notes.

The Rastra Bank will pay 14,222,535 US dollars (about 1.48 billion rupees) for printing the said notes. Based on the mentioned expenses, the new notes to be printed will cost 3 rupees 52 paisa per copy.
