Signatures of party MPs who were elected to the House of Representatives in the dissolved Parliament are being collected for the purpose of filing a writ petition with the Supreme Court demanding the restoration of the House of Representatives.

Mahesh Bartaula, the UML chief whip of the dissolved House of Representatives, has said that discussions on going to court to conduct a constitutional review of the dissolution of the House of Representatives have reached the final stage.
The UML had been protesting against the unconstitutional government's dissolution of the House of Representatives. Bartoula said that signatures of party MPs in the dissolved parliament are being collected for the purpose of filing a writ petition with the Supreme Court demanding the restoration of the House of Representatives. 'Since the party has clearly decided that the dissolution of the House of Representatives is unconstitutional and should be restored, discussions are underway on whether to file a writ petition,' he said. He said that during the hearing of the writ petitions against the dissolution filed in the court earlier, the question was raised as to whether the aggrieved MP had also raised his voice in favor of the constitution.'
'The solution to the current conflict in the country is also the restoration of the House of Representatives. That is why signatures are being signed in favor of constitutional remedies,' Bartoula said, 'We are in the final discussions on filing a writ petition in the court against the unconstitutional dissolution of the House of Representatives by the unconstitutional government. We will decide in two to four days.'

The Congress has also been collecting signatures of outgoing MPs since Saturday. Bartaula said that discussions are also underway on whether the UML will go with the writ against dissolution with the Congress or go alone.
He also said that suggestions have been coming from civil society and legal experts that the court should be approached against the dissolution of the House of Representatives. 'Suggestions have also come from the civil level that initiatives should be taken for a constitutional review,' he said, 'We will decide how to go in two to four days.'
The House of Representatives was dissolved on Bhadra 27. Sushila Karki had recommended the dissolution of the House of Representatives immediately after being appointed as the Prime Minister. Based on the same recommendation, President Ram Chandra Poudel dissolved the House of Representatives and announced elections on Falgun 21. 17 writ petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court against the dissolution of the House of Representatives. After conducting a preliminary hearing on those writs, the Supreme Court has sought a written response from the opponents.
