Police have launched an investigation into the lease agreement for land owned by Nepal Trust located at Durbar Marg. The police have launched an investigation into the charges of fraud and criminal breach of trust, alleging that the lease agreement was for a period of 30 years, which would cause losses to the company.
According to Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Manoj KC, the chief of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), Lekh Bahadur Karki, 66, the then Joint Secretary of Nepal Trust, has been arrested for investigation.
‘We have started further investigation after arresting him on Friday,’ KC said. According to the police, during the initial investigation, it was found that during the lease agreement, the land of 4606 was taken away, including plot number 4605, and the agreement was taken on lease without the decision and basis of the operating committee.
The police say that further investigation will proceed based on the statement of the recently retired Joint Secretary Karki.
