The commission of inquiry formed to investigate the Gen-G agitation and protests that took place on 23 and 24 Bhadra has started taking statements from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) President Ravi Lamichhane.

The commission summoned Lamichhane, who is also a former home minister, to Singha Durbar to take his statement. The commission's team had reached Nakkhu on Tuesday to investigate the escape of prisoners and the vandalism and arson inside the prison. The commission also took the statement of Nakkhu Jail Chief Satyaraj Joshi on Sunday. The commission had asked questions about prisoners including Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sanjay Sah 'Takla', who is believed to be the main planner of the Janakpur bomb blast. The commission asked Joshi, 'Was a letter written to get Lamichhane out or not?' The commission had asked him questions such as what the security arrangements were like in the prison and why it was weak after the government used force to shoot him during the Gen-G movement on the 23rd. The commission had asked him questions such as what the situation was like the next morning when the situation became tense from the morning.

The commission had asked him about the vandalism, arson, and escaped prisoners at Nakkhu Prison during the protest on Bhadra 24 and the circumstances of the incident. Chief Joshi, who gave a statement for almost two hours, said that there had been attempts to vandalize and arson at Nakkhu Prison since the morning of Bhadra 24. A member of the commission to which he gave his statement informed that despite exercising restraint, the situation had gotten out of control.
