An Altitude Air helicopter has crashed in Lobuche, Solukhumbu. The helicopter crashed on Wednesday morning after skidding while landing at the Lobuche helipad, informed Chief District Officer Lila Kumari KC Pandey.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Manojit Kunwar informed that there were no passengers in the helicopter except the pilot. He said that the helicopter's pilot, Vivek Khadka, was safe.

According to Lukla Airport, the helicopter with the call sign Alpha Mike Serra skidded while landing at 8:15 am. The helicopter had taken off from Lukla at 7:43 am for a rescue flight to Lobuche. Videos of tourists shouting 'La! The helicopter has crashed' as the helicopter skidded have also been posted on social media.
