A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court, claiming that the decision to ban travel and seize passports of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, among others, is illegal.

Advocate Prem Silwal has filed the writ petition. He has claimed that the commission, which has the authority to investigate the Gen-G movement, has stopped the former Prime Minister and others from moving from one place to another without any legal basis. This is the second writ petition filed in the Supreme Court. One was filed earlier and registered. The Supreme Court's case division has stated that the decision on whether to register the petition will be taken only after studying the matter. The commission had said that permission should be obtained before traveling for the investigation, saying that it played a role in suppressing the 23 Bhadra movement. Similarly, the passport of the then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has also been blocked. In the case of the then Home Secretary Gokarnamani Dawadi, it has already been opened.
