After the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police office burned down, the office is now operating by renting a nearby party palace.
Awareness classes, which were closed after the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police office was burned down during the Gen-G movement and subsequent protests, have reopened after a month and a half.
Office spokesperson Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi said that the suspended classes have been resumed and that the old rules of traffic management and rule violators taking awareness classes according to the offense have been resumed.
After the Ramshahpath-based traffic office burned down, the office is now being operated by renting a nearby party palace. Awareness classes are also being conducted inside the same party palace. The traffic police have been physically making drivers who drive under the influence of alcohol, speed, violate red lights, and break lanes participate in awareness classes. According to spokesperson Subedi, 186 drivers who have been prosecuted participated in the awareness classes that resumed on Tuesday. According to him, classes will be conducted five times a day on days other than public holidays and four times on Fridays. For those who cannot attend during office hours, two classes will be conducted every Saturday.
