A Nepal Police identity card has been found with Arjun Shahi, who was arrested on charges of threatening government employees in the name of Gen-G.

According to Ramesh Thapa, chief of the Kathmandu District Police Range, the investigating officers found him in a hotel in Chabahil showing his police ID card. “When the police team went to bring him, they found a police ID card with him,” Thapa said. “We are investigating further.”

According to the officers, the identity card of an Assistant Inspector of Police (AIP) working in the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority was found with him. The identity card bears the name of Kumar Sharma. The police are also investigating the identity card. The investigating officers also suspect that Shahi may have used the same identity card to threaten various people. The Kathmandu District Police Range had arrested Shahi for investigation after receiving complaints about his activities.

He had been meeting and interrogating the heads of various government offices, saying that he would submit a memorandum after the Gen-G movement. At the same time, he had complained about his activities to the Civil Aviation Authority and Nepal Airlines Corporation employees.

He used to visit offices with the YouTuber and demand the resignation of the employees. Later, when Shahi was investigated, it was revealed that he was also accused of foreign fraud and banking crimes. He was arrested by the Valley Crime Investigation Office on April 28, 2005 on charges of fraud by saying that he was sending him to Korea.

After the police arrested him and handed him over, while the Foreign Employment Department was investigating, there was another complaint of banking crimes against him at the Police Circle, Maharajgunj. It has been found that the investigation officer wrote a letter to the department asking him to hand over Shahi in case he was released. At that time, Shree Krishna Phuyal, who filed the complaint, also said that he had taken his studio belongings and lost contact.

‘At that time, they had given two checks of Rs 180,000 and Rs 200,000 and said that they would give the rest back,’ Phuyal said. ‘When I went to the bank on the day of exchanging the check, I didn’t have a single rupee, then they told me to leave, saying that they were going to hold a terrible event in Korea.’ Phuyal said that he did not return the money despite repeated requests.

Shahi had also become a candidate in the by-election in Ilam 2. At that time, he had received a total of 55 votes.
