Bolero No. 1 J 3055, which left for Dharan from Mikwakhola Rural Municipality-4 Sanwa in Taplejung, fell down about three hundred meters from the road in the Katike section of Tamor Corridor road on Saturday afternoon.
According to the police, all those who died in the accident are from Taplejung. 28-year-old Manisha Karki of Meringden Rural Municipality-5, 25-year-old Dhankumar Limbu and 32-year-old Abhishek Limbu of the same ward were killed in the accident. 21-year-old Geeta Hangam of 4, ward no. 23-year-old Binod Lungwa of 2 and 29-year-old Yuna Tamang of Sidingwa Rural Municipality-1 were killed, informed Rupesh Tamang, information officer of District Police Office Panchthar.
According to him, 22-year-old Mahesh Limbu of Meringden Rural Municipality-5, 25-year-old Manu Sanwa Limbu of Mikwakhola Rural Municipality-4, Taplejung's 7-year-old Santosh Limwu of Kalikhola, 35-year-old Mahesh Guragai of Ithari-7 of Sunsari, 25-year-old Bimal Limbu of Meringden-5 and 29-year-old Sanjuhang Limbu of Taplejung, Mikwakhola-4 were injured.
Most of the injured have injuries on their heads, backs and limbs and they are being treated at VP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan. The bodies of six people who died in the accident have been brought to District Hospital Panchthar for post-mortem.
According to the police, the Bolero was carrying 12 passengers including the driver. Due to the remoteness of the accident site, it was possible to rescue the injured only after about an hour.
Local civilians, public representatives, Nepal Police, Armed Police and Nepali Army rescued the injured and the dead.
