Nepal Trekking Agencies Association (TAN) has requested its member trekking agencies to postpone trekking for the next three days (October 18, 19 and 20) and to carefully plan other tourism activities due to the ongoing heavy rains and possible risk of flooding across the country. Currently, 20,000 tourists have gone to various destinations across the country and are about to go.

 

 

TAN Secretary General Sonam Ganjen Sherpa issued a statement on Saturday citing the forecast of the Department of Water and Meteorology, saying that the safety of passengers, hikers, guides and helpers should be given first priority as the current weather conditions are highly unstable.

'Study the weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Department to adjust your schedule and do not start any new trek for the next three days . After Monday, the condition of the road and other infrastructures will be evaluated and the trek will be started," said the statement.
