Bahadurpur village comes after going west-south about 500 meters from Katharia market. The Dalit settlement near this village has been mourning for a few days now. On August 11, 30-year-old Nasib Baitha died during treatment at a sports hospital in Birganj.

The cause of his death was a beating   While the police investigation has not confirmed that Nasib stole anyone's mobile phone. Is it then that Nasib died in the false accusation of stealing a mobile phone worth about 30/35 thousand rupees and the subsequent beating? When

reached Nasib's house on Monday, his mother Sunaina was in a state of grief. Her face was filled with grief and her voice trembled even when she talked about her son. Sunaina, who had no assets except Ghaderi, lost her husband and son in the same month. Stating that her son was killed by pretending that it was not happening, she said, 'We need justice.'

False accusation of mobile theft: How did 30-year-old Nasib die from beating?

Nasib worked as a mixer machine operator in a house building company. Garbhu Dayal used to work with him. Local Vijay Yadav and his brother Sanjay accused Nasib of stealing the mobile phone. On 32 June, Sanjay lodged a complaint at the local police office in Katharia about the loss of the mobile phone and accused Nasib of stealing the mobile phone. On July 1, the police also investigated Nasib on this matter.

On June 32, neighbor Sanjay Yadav filed a missing mobile phone complaint with the local police Garuda. The police called Nasib and had a discussion on July 1. According to DSP Rajan Karki, the investigation could not confirm that Nasib had stolen the mobile phone. But this incident did not end there.

On 17th July, Garbhu, who worked together, assaulted Nasib in Katharia market after raising the issue of mobile phone theft. The next day, on 18 July, Vijay and Sanjay took Nasib to the garden of Bahadurpur village and tied him up and beat him severely with Sikri and Chain. After seeing Nasib being beaten up, local Deeplal called the Katharia police station. The police came and rescued Nasib but did not take any action against those involved in the beating. Instead, the police ended up discussing this issue. DSP Pant said that when the police arrived that day, they did not see Nasib tied up. Nasib's family members complained that the police did not take any action against Nirghatna on that day.

Nasib also got sick from this beating. But after the death of his sick father Babulal Baitha on 24th July, he became busy with the work of Kiriya Karma. After completing Kazkiria, Nasib's problems including chest pain increased. The family members initially rushed him to the government hospital in Katharia Bazar. After there was no treatment there, he was taken to Narayani Provincial Hospital in Birganj. As treatment was not possible there too, they reached Sports Hospital in Birganj. Mother Sunaina said that she was kept in the ICU for five days and the treatment cost 4 lakhs. Despite all these expenses, they could not save Nasib.

After Nasib's death, mother Sunaina has filed a duty case against 5 people in Garuda area police office on August 11. DSP Rajan Karki said that Garbhu was arrested and four others were absconding.

The sky has fallen in Sunaina's family due to Nasib's death. Wife Geeta Das questioned how she would raise her four sons between the ages of one and seven, saying, 'Because he was a Dalit and poor, his husband was beaten and killed on false charges.'
