There was a dispute in the Legislation Management Committee under the National Assembly when there was a dispute whether to reverse the agreement reached on Friday on the method of implementation of the retirement age of employees in the Federal Civil Bill.
Along with General Administration Minister Bhagwati Neupane, the ruling party Congress and UML parliamentarians are trying to reverse Friday's agreement and the opposition Maoist, Unified Socialist, Jaspa Nepal's stance that the agreement should be accepted has not been able to reach an agreement.
Minister Neupane has taken the stand that the retirement age of employees should be 59 years after the bill is passed. His stand has been supported by Congress and UML MPs who have unanimously decided that the retirement age will be 59 from the next fiscal year only.
MPs of Maoists, United Socialists and Jaspa Nepal have said that the system passed unanimously by the committee meeting cannot be reversed now under the pressure of high-ranking employees.
After both parties did not give up their stand, Chairman Tulsa Dahal postponed the meeting of the committee for 15 minutes.
