The festival of Haritalika (Teez) celebrated on the day of Bhadra Shukla Tritiya is being celebrated today by worshiping Devadidev Mahadev.

It is a religious belief that if you fast and worship Shiva Parvati on Bhadra Shukla Tritiya, you will get family happiness, peace and well-being. It is believed that this fast started with the belief that Parvati, daughter of the Himalayas during the Satya Yuga, got the boon to get a Mahadev husband by doing penance at Gaurighat. 

According to the same belief, Parvati's father Himalaya tried to get married to Vishnu against Parvati's wish and told his friends about his problem and when he found out that Parvati was in trouble, the friend kidnapped her and hid her in a place where no one could see. At the place where her friends were hiding, Parvati took a fasting fast and got Mahadev as her husband. In this way, the day of Parvati's loss by her friends falls on Bhadra Shukla Tritiya, so there is a religious opinion that the practice of fasting on Haritalika (Teez) started from that time.

The word Haritalika is formed by combining two Sanskrit words 'Harit' and 'Alika'. In which the word 'Harit' means deprived and the word 'Alika' means friend.

Pravda Ramchandra Gautam, a theologian, narrated that Prada Ramachandra Gautam, a theologian, said that since Parvati fasted on this day in the Satya Yuga, she received Sri Mahadev Swami, fasting on this day will fulfill her wishes, but this does not mean that all women should fast.  It is best to fast for those who can do without food, for those who can't eat food and for those who can't even eat food, it is best to fast after considering the scripture saying that 'Sarvath Atmanan Gopayet' means protect the soul from all sides and fast only.''

Prada Ramachandra Gautam informed that since one's health is not good, one can fast by eating fruits like wheat or corn bread, apples, oranges, bananas. He says that he is also the former head of the Valmiki Vidyapeeth Department of Theology, which is being falsely propagated that Teej fast should be observed only for the long life of the husband.  ''There is a scriptural law that unmarried girls and boys observe Teej fast to wish for unwavering good luck, to have children, and to get a good bridegroom and bride,'' he said.

Women fast as the guardians of the family, so men also fast when unable to do so. In this sense, the theologian says that the discriminatory fasting tradition is not as strong as some feminists have raised. 

Two parts of having to eat food through the night

Because those who observe this fast are fasting, on Monday, the fasting people prepare for today's fast by eating sweet and sweet dishes as a meal. Especially in-laws and brothers-in-law feed their daughters and sisters. There is a classical law that the rate should be eaten in two parts of the night.
