Deputy Superintendent of Police Yograj Khatiwada of District Police Office Sunsari informed that the injured and dead have yet to be identified. Khatiwada informed that the injured have been sent to various hospitals in Sunsari and Morang for treatment. The bus driver, Gopal Adhikari, aged 36, resident of Jhapa Arjundhara Municipality-1, has been detained by the police and is being investigated.
Sunsari chief district officer Dharmendra Kumar Mishra, Sunsari police chief Superintendent of Police Suman Kumar Timsina and a technical team including Deputy Superintendent of Police Saroj Singh from Kosi State Police Hospital Inruwa have been deployed at the scene, police said.
