A meeting was held between Maoist Senior Vice President Narayankaji Shrestha and CPN General Secretary Netra Vikram Chand. On Wednesday, the two leaders met and discussed for about an hour at Shrestha Niwas in Hattivan.
During the meeting, the two leaders also discussed the current political situation, the possibility of party unity between CPN and Maoists.
The standing committee meeting of the Maoists decided to unite with the CPN after solving the conflict within their party.
The decision was made by the Maoist Standing Committee meeting which started on Saturday at the party central office Parisdanda and ended on Monday.
In the Central Committee held last December, Maoists decided to unite with like-minded parties including CPN. But after the process did not proceed, the leaders started saying that the Ekta chapter was almost closed saying that the CPN led by Chand was not interested.
