Nepal Media Society has prepared to submit a formal opinion to the government to demand necessary amendments in the bill after further consultation with stakeholders.

In the 22nd annual general meeting of the society on July 16, , the media council bill currently under discussion in the parliamentary committee was seen as an attempt to impose it as a controlling body rather than for the promotion of the media sector, so the society also requested the parliament and MPs to participate in the legal process related to it only after creating an umbrella law for the mass media.
