Jaspa, Nepal President Upendra Yadav's Secretariat has accused Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of being silent about the audio episode of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Minister Balram Adhikari. Through social media, Yadav's secretariat has sarcastically said that the officer should resign as long as Oli stays in Baluwatar.
The Secretariat has written, 'Be assured, Land Minister Balram Adhikari does not need to resign. As long as 'Ba' reigns at the head of Baluwatar and Chasal, his fellow partners are free to do whatever they want.'
Another audio has been released in which a ministerial officer claimed to have accepted a bribe of Rs.
In the audio that was released on Wednesday, it is claimed that the official took the bribe in the minister's quarter through the middleman Sujan Lama, who is also a local leader of UML. In the audio, it is said that the minister's son Manoj, the then secretary of the Ministry of Land Management Arjun Pokharel was also involved in the bribe transaction and 'setting'. Yadav's secretariat has taken a dig at this issue.
'Rajkumar Gupta, who recently resigned as Minister of General Administration, was of Madhesh origin, and was forced to resign. If he was a relative of Shiromani 'Ba', the protector of middlemen, commissioners and corrupt people, he would have made a bigger scandal and would have continued to sit at the head of 'Ba','' the secretariat said. In the case of Gupta's audio, Land Minister Adhikari is also confused.
