In the early hours of Sunday morning, the phone rang in the Bhojpur police control room. The caller, Rajendra Rai, asked to be rescued as he had killed four people to save his life and he was also injured. The early-morning phone calls startled the police at first.

It was also suspected that someone had bent it. But when Rajendra called again, he admitted to killing his in-laws, and the police immediately traced the location of the phone and deployed a team.

Police found the bodies of Rajendra's 68-year-old father-in-law Bel Bahadur Giri, 45-year-old mother-in-law Manju, 16-year-old wife Manisha and 9-year-old Salo Sapan at the scene, 32 km away from the headquarters. Rajendra was found injured by the police at a distance of about three kilometers from the incident site. "He himself fell down in an injured state, he was injured in the stomach," said an officer of the district police, "he was arrested and immediately admitted to the district hospital." Currently, he has been sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for treatment.'

According to Koshi Province Police Chief DIG Ishwar Karki, the injured Rajendra suffered deep injuries in three places in his abdomen. The doctor involved in the treatment informed that his condition is stable. Although injured, he is able to speak. Preparations are being made for surgery," he said. According to Karki, Rajendra has given an initial statement that he killed everyone in retaliation after his in-laws attacked him.

30-year-old Rajendra of Bhojpur municipality-2 Helauchha got married secondly to 16-year-old Manisha of Ramprasad Rai rural municipality-2 after the divorce of the previous marriage. Rajendra and Manisha, who were working as construction workers near Bhojpur headquarters, got married last October after a love affair. Manisha's family did not accept the marriage because of her daughter's age on the one hand and inter-caste relationship on the other. It is seen that Rajendra did not inform his family about his second marriage with Manisha.

Rajendra had camped at the headquarters and kept Manisha. However, recently Manisha returned home. Locals have informed the police that they reached Rajendra Manisha's village four days before returning him.

Locals have said that they have seen Rajendra around the village for the last four days. According to District Police Office sources, Rajendra reached his in-laws' place on Saturday night in a drunken state to pick up Manisha.

In the initial inquiry, Rajendra was seen hanging around the village for four days, but he did not stay at home. On Saturday night, it is said that he went to the incident site in a drunken tone after drinking alcohol outside,' said a police source, 'We are investigating based on everyone's statement and looking at the nature of the incident.' According to the preliminary investigation of the police, when the mother-in-law did not agree to send her daughter, he became angry and the dispute led to murder. Due to the fact that the house was secluded, the neighborhood found out about the fight between the son-in-law and the in-laws on Saturday night only in the morning.

'It seems that the dispute turned into violence after the in-laws did not allow the daughter to be taken away,' said Bhojpur Chief District Officer Suresh Panthi. According to him, Manisha's family was unhappy about their minor daughter marrying inter-caste. "These two reasons seem to be the main root of the incident," Prajia Panthi said.

Koshi Province Police Chief DIG Karki informed that injured Rajendra claimed to have killed everyone after being stabbed first by his in-laws side. Rajendra, who was found injured, was dying himself. Therefore, it is necessary to check the facts of what he said," he said. "It will be revealed only after the investigation is over whether Rajendra killed in resistance or in a planned manner." He said that there is no dispute that Rajendra killed all four people. The police have sent the bodies of the deceased to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for post-mortem.
