Ram Bahadur Bamjan has been jailed again. District Court Sarlahi has ordered Bamjan to be sent to jail pending trial in the case of money laundering.
Information Officer of Sarlahi District Court Sikinder Kapar informed that the bench of Judge Jeevan Kumar Bhandari has ordered Bamjan to be sent to prison for preliminary investigation. He has been sent to prison for the second time.
According to the order of the court on Monday evening, the police said that Bamjan was sent to Sarlahi headquarters Malangwa prison at night. An asset laundering case was registered against Bamjan in the court on 5th of February.
Earlier, the Sarlahi District Court had sentenced Bamjan to 10 years imprisonment and compensation of five lakh rupees on 10 June 2081 in the case of sexual misconduct. The Janakpur High Court overturned the decision of the Sarlahi District Court on March 6 and freed Bamjan from prison. During the hearing of the case, the followers of the controversial religious leader Bamjan, known as 'Little Buddha', gathered in front of the district court .
