Vishwa Paudel, who was appointed as the 18th governor, graduated from the University of California in the year 2010. Apart from economics, Paudel's subject expertise is in agricultural resources, resource management and labor economics and economic history. He also has the experience of working as an economic advisor to the International Labor Organization (ILO).
Paudel, who worked as a senior economic adviser to the Ministry of Finance in 2078-80, was the vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission in 2078-79. Poudel, who is also the board chairman of the International Center for Mountain Development (ECMOD), worked as an economist in Millennium Challenge Nepal in 2015-17.
Paudel also has experience as a visiting professor at China's Sichuan University, China's South China Agricultural University, and America's University of California, Berkeley. Poudel has published research papers on topics ranging from microfinance to labor and social economics to environment and water resources.
In 2018, the ILO made Paudel also worked on the report entitled "Analysis of Nepal's Labor Market". Poudel also wrote a research paper for the Singapore-based International Trade Union Federation on the activities of labor unions in the informal sector in Asia.
