A 'marathon' political meeting of Chathaiwale in Kathmandu

Foreign Department Head of Bharatiya Janata Party Vijay Chathaiwale, who is visiting Nepal, met with the Nepalese leader at a 'marathon' pace. Since leaving Kathmandu on Wednesday for a three-day visit, Phathaiva has been busy meeting with top leaders of various parties, from second and third generation leaders.

In two days, Chathaiwale has met 14 people including Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chairman of the ruling Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of the main opposition party Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal. He is scheduled to return in the evening after meeting with more leaders throughout the day on Friday.

On Thursday evening, Chathaiwale met Prime Minister Oli at his residence in Baluwatar. The Prime Minister's Secretariat said that during the meeting, mutual relations and interests between the two countries were discussed. Chathaiwale met Maoist Chairman Dahal and former Prime Minister of Nepal at their residence. Had dinner with Congress leader Shekhar Koirala at Yak and Yeti Hotel and lunch meeting with Chief Minister Gagan Thapa at Hotel Marriott.

The Congress leader's line is big on the list met by the quarterback. Home Minister Ramesh met the writer, party spokesperson Prakasharan Mahat, former foreign minister NP Saud, leader Uday Shamsher Rana. He also met Maoist leader Janardhan Sharma, LOSPA president Mahant Thakur and Janamat president CK Raut on Thursday. Most of the meetings were held by Chathiwale at the Marriott Hotel where he was staying.

After Congress President Deuba's return from Bangkok, Thailand, Chathaiwale's arrival in Nepal and his close meeting with the leaders have been taken meaningfully. Deuba, who went to Bangkok for treatment, returned home on May 12 after 6 days. Deuba, who underwent eye surgery and stomach treatment in Singapore and was doing 'follow-up' between two and three years, went to Bangkok this time without going there. While it is being speculated that he had a political meeting while in Bangkok, the BJP leader Chathaiwale held the first meeting jointly with Deuba and Foreign Minister Arju Rana as soon as he landed in Kathmandu.

The relationship with India has not warmed since the 7-point agreement reached between Congress and UML on June 17 of last year and the formation of the government under the leadership of UML President Oli. As soon as a new government is formed in Nepal, the Prime Minister's first visit starts from India, with some exceptions. However, even after nine and a half months of government formation this time, Prime Minister Oli has not been invited by the Indian side.

After the efforts being made by the Congress leadership and various contact sources to get the Prime Minister to visit India have not been successful, another alliance is being discussed. The leader who met with Chathaiwale has claimed that although he is interested in the alliance, he has not given any indication of changing the equation. The leaders have said that his main concern is that the support and support of Nepal should not be over the top regarding the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir .

Congress leader Shekhar Koirala said that although it is natural to be interested in the politics of Nepal, the main concern is the terrorist incident in Kashmir. Apart from that, there may be an attempt to understand the activities of former king Gyanendra Shah and the activities of returning the monarchy. There was more discussion about the terrorist incident in Kashmir. Due to the open border with Nepal, there was more concern about security challenges and precautions', Koirala said, 'There was no discussion about power alliances and changing the government.' He also spoke in that context. "He has placed India's interest in ensuring that the open border with Nepal is not misused by terrorists," Congress General Minister Thapa said. In response, Thapa said that the government of Nepal and all political parties here are aware of India's security interests.

Nepal's former ambassador to India, Deepkumar Upadhyay, says that even though India does not like the coalition government, the main concern at present may be the terrorist incident in Kashmir. India is worried that if the tension between the two countries escalates tomorrow, terrorists may take advantage of the open border, he said. It can be something that can be tempting and psychologically influencing the leaders.'

In the meeting with the Home Minister, Chathaiwale also expressed his concern about India's security challenges. The meeting with Congress leader Rana took place at Dwarika Hotel. Rana said that the meeting was based on old political friendship. In his meeting with all the Nepali leaders, Chathaiwale expressed his gratitude for the support given by Nepal in the fight against terrorism and hoped for its continuation. Last week, 26 people were killed in a terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.
