Durga Prasai, the commander of the violent demonstration by the royalists, was arrested in India and brought to Nepal through the Kakdbhita border crossing. The team of the Special Bureau of Police is escorting him to Bhadrapur Airport. Preparations are being made to send him to Kathmandu in a Buddha Air plane shortly.
His family members and supporters were waiting for him at Mechi bridge from this morning.
Officials have said that he was arrested by the Special Bureau of Nepal Police from the border area of Eastern Nepal, who fled after inciting violence in the name of 15th Chait demonstration. Three teams of Nepal Police had reached India to find the Prasais who had fled after creating trouble.
In the violent demonstration of Rajawadi, Prasai trampled the police and trampled the vehicle, while his supporters pelted stones, vandalized, arson and looted a total of 40 structures including various public and private buildings, media houses and commercial centers. Similarly, 69 public and private vehicles were damaged. Journalist Suresh Rajak and presenter Savin Maharjan were killed in the incident, while 129 people were injured, five people are still in hospital.
Even though Prasain escaped, the police arrested 79 people including RPP Senior Vice President Ravindra Mishra and Chief Minister Dhavalshamsher Rana. The police are investigating Mishra and Rana in cases including sedition, organized crime and public nuisance with a court order.
