Ravi Lamichhane being taken to Bhairahawa

Ravi Lamichhane, president of RSWP and the then managing director of Gorkha Media Network, is being taken to jail in a matter of time in the case of co-operative fraud. He was arrested by the police at night after the Butwal Bench of Tulsipur High Court passed the order on Friday.

The police said that he was taken to the airport to take Bhairahawa by air.

Ruppendehi SP Ranjit Singh Rathore said that he will be kept in the custody of Ruppendehi police today and tomorrow. He will be produced in court on Monday.

The police arrested him from his residence on Friday evening and kept him in the custody of District Police Complex Kathmandu.

In the Supreme Cooperative fraud case, on January 13, Rupandehi District Court ordered Lamichhane to be released on a bond of 1 crore. Based on the evidence immediately obtained in the co-operative fraud, "there is no reason to believe that the defendant (Lamichhane) has not committed any crime", it was ordered to release him on bail.

Judge Ramesh Dhakal and Sankapara Parajuli of Butwal Bench of High Court Tulsipur have issued an order to keep them in custody.
