Voting for the election of the 27th Central Working Committee of Nepal Bar Association is going on today. Voting will be held from 8 am to 4 pm.  This time, five candidates have been nominated for the position of President of the Bar.

However, it is seen that the main competition will be between Senior Advocate Professor Vijay Prasad Mishra from the Broad Democratic, Progressive, Professional, Nationalist and Inclusive Lawyers Group and Senior Advocate Raman Kumar Shrestha from the Professional Lawyers Group.

Mishra and Shrestha have entered the election competition by forming separate panels. Both of them have put forward their commitment for the reform of the court. 

There are three independent candidates for president. Advocate Raju Kaiti, Advocate Ujwal Ghimire for President of the Bar  And advocate Ashish Poudel has also given candidacy. 57 candidates are in the fray for the new 25-member working committee of the bar. 

Senior advocate Kedar Prasad Koirala is a candidate for the post of general secretary from Mishra's group, while advocate Yagyamani Neupane is a candidate from Shrestha's group. According to Chief Electoral Officer Senior Advocate Ramakrishna Nirala, the number of votes cast is 9,957. There are 36 polling stations in Kathmandu and outside. Kathmandu polling station is located in the premises of the Supreme Court. There are about 6,000 voters in this center.
