Buddha Air's ATR 'Alpha November Hotel' carrying 63 passengers took off from Janakpur Airport and landed in Kathmandu on Thursday afternoon. While the passengers were being disembarked from the ship and placed on the ramp bus, the technician was doing a routine 'walk-around' of the ship on the apron. A wheel on the front landing gear was missing during that time.
Although there have been two similar incidents in the records of Kathmandu Airport, this was the first for Buddha. We were at the airport. Suddenly, during the routine inspection of the ship coming from Janakpur, the news was heard that one of the two front wheels was missing,' said one of the captains of Budha.
Tej Bahadur Budthapa was in the tower of Janakpur Airport. "I was taking off/landing the plane from the tower," he said, who is also the head of Janakpur Airport. Soon after reaching the threshold, a wheel was found inside the square. The ship leaving the wheel left Janakpur at 4:39 pm for Kathmandu.
The airport has handed over the wheel to Buddha Air's Janakpur station. According to Budthapa, it was only after the Buddha's ship landed safely in Kathmandu that the wheel came loose in Janakpur. According to an engineer at Buddha, preliminary investigations showed that the wheel blew out when the ship reached the end of the runway and engaged the funko. This ship flew east from 09 point west of Janakpur runway towards Mohattari and came to Kathmandu.
ATR and Buddha have started an investigation into this incident, according to Buddha. The ship is ejected from flight and grounded. "In this incident, the investigation will focus on whether the technician was negligent or not or there is a malfunction in the equipment," said the engineer. This 72-passenger capacity ship flew five times to Bhadrapur and Janakpur before Janakpur on Thursday. Buddha is one of the largest ATR aircraft operators in South Asia. It has 18 ships of ATR company.
