President Ramchandra Paudel has said that it is a matter of pride for all Hindus to have Pashupat area in Nepal.
On the occasion of Mahashivaratri festival, 2081, he wished happiness, peace and prosperity to all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad and said, 'Lord Shiva's relationship with the land of Nepal is described in various Vedic texts. Staying in the holy Pashupat region in Nepal is a matter of pride not only for us but also for all Hindus.'
He has said that faith and belief related to Shiva are constantly reflected in the eternal culture existing within many religious sects of our country. He said that Nepal has always been a center of spiritual contemplation for devotees from all over the world who have faith in Aradhyadev Shri Pashupatinath and Kirateswar Mahadev as real Shiva.
'Though in the Vedic tradition, Shiva is considered to be the power of destruction, Shiva Shakti contains both gentle and rudra forms, which equally represent the creative and destructive power of nature,' he said, 'Satyan Shivam Sundaram' is an ancient folk saying because the gentle power makes the human consciousness aware of the good side and motivates them to accept it only.
Rudra Shakti punishes the consequences of bad choices. He said that Mahashivratri, like many of our cultural festivals, uniquely reveals the fact that the human race should choose its path of progress only through good cooperation with nature.
Nirjal fast, night vigil, worship of four hours and Shiva Mahima Kirtan are considered to be the main parts of Shivratri worship, while the observance of Shivratri is a religious belief that both Yoga and Moksha will be achieved.
