At least 95 people have died in an earthquake in Tibet, China. According to the Chinese media CGTN, the number of injured in the earthquake that occurred on Tuesday morning in Dingri County of China's Xizang Autonomous Region has exceeded 130.
According to local time on Tuesday morning, the earthquake occurred in the center of Dingri County of China's Xijang Autonomous Region, near the northeastern border of Nepal. According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, China's official body for measuring earthquakes, the 6.8-magnitude earthquake occurred at 9:50 a.m. local time. According to the center, the point of origin (depth) of the earthquake is 10 km.
According to CCTV, there are 7 villages around 5 km from the epicenter of the earthquake. Similarly, there are 2 cities around 20 km from the center. Videos and photos of buildings collapsed due to the earthquake have also been released. According to Chinese media, relief and rescue teams have been deployed in the earthquake-affected areas.
The US Geological Survey reported that the magnitude of the earthquake was 7.1. Nepal's National Earthquake Measurement Center reported that the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.0. Along with various districts of Nepal, there have been reports that the shock of the earthquake was felt as far as Thimpu in Bhutan, Bihar in India and Bangladesh.
