Disaster Management Authority's request to avoid snow and cold waves

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has requested to exercise caution, stating that it has received information from the Department of Water and Meteorology that the country's weather will change from Friday afternoon.

Dijan Bhattarai, spokesperson of the authority, has requested to be cautious as cold and cold waves will increase and health problems can arise from cold. He said that there may be snowfall in the highlands and Himalayan areas, rain in some places and cold wave in the plains.

The Weather Forecasting Division has issued a special bulletin related to weather change and said that due to the western low pressure system, it will be partly to normal in many places of the country from this afternoon.

On Saturday, the department has forecast light to moderate snowfall in most of the high hilly and Himalayan parts of Far West and Karnali Provinces and some places in the high hilly and Himalayan parts of Gandaki, Bagmati and Koshi Provinces.
