Nominations of candidates for local by-elections are being registered on Sunday. The Election Commission is scheduled to register candidate nominations at the election officer's office from 10 am to 5 pm.
The list of candidates who have registered their nominations for the by-elections to be held on November 16 will be published on Sunday from 5 to 6 pm. There is a schedule for filing complaints against candidates from 10 am to 3 pm on November 3. November 5 is the time for withdrawal of nominations. On the same day in the afternoon, the final list of candidates will be published and election symbols will be awarded.
After the election of 2079, by-elections are being held to elect 1/1 municipal head and deputy head, 2 village head and 4 vice head and 34 ward head. From this by-election, the head of the District Samaniwa Samiti of Okhaldhunga and Kailali will also be selected.
Elections are being held for the post of chief in Kirtipur Nagarpakalika, chairman in Dailekh Mahabu Rural Municipality and chairman in Morang Gramathan Rural Municipality. In Jajarkot Nalgad Municipality, Deputy Chief, Dolakha Gourishankar Rural Municipality, Rukum (Eastern part) Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality, Humla Sarkegad Rural Municipality and Bajura Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality will be elected from the by-election.
The commission is implementing the election code of conduct from the day of nomination. According to the commission, the code of conduct will apply to all government agencies, candidates, political parties, media, including the government of Nepal, state government and local government, until the election is over.
The code of conduct will be applicable only within the district where by-elections are held. The Commission has requested everyone to conduct the election in a clean, free, fair and credible manner by fully following the code of conduct.
