Indian politician Pratap Bhanu Mehta has said that none of the world's populist leaders have prioritized solutions to economic challenges.

The third session of the Kantipur Conclave organized by Kantipur Media Group 'Wave of Folklore'  Ma Mehta gave examples of elections from America to India where 'populist' leaders  He said that the issue of economic challenges has not been made an election agenda. 

He said that the populist leaders of some Latin American countries have brought forward the issue of economic reform in the election agenda. Similarly, Mehta said that populist leaders do politics by raising various issues. Mehta also said that the leaders from Modi to Trump have carried forward the old structure as their strategy. "In India, Modi has interpreted familyism as a similar structure," he said. He also said that populist leaders are weakening democratic institutions. He says that
