Aam Janata Party (AJPA) president and MP Prabhu Sah has accused CPN-UML of openly accepting bribes from the owners of Bhatbhateni.

He made this accusation at the meeting and exchange of greetings held on Tuesday in Golbazar, Siraha. He alleges that the owner of Bhatbhateni, Meen Bahadur Gurung, who is the defendant in the pro-government case, donated land worth billions as a bribe to the party that led the government to get protection. 'This is open bribery,' he asked, 'if not, will he donate to a poor party like us?'

Shah said that even though a billionaire party with millions of members and immense wealth could build a party office by collecting donations from its members, it was clear that UML took bribes. He expressed his concern saying that this exposed the corrupt character of UML and its leaders and this step of UML will further distort Nepali politics.

He says that it is not possible to believe that the country will be built by the UML, which cannot even build its own party office and accepts bribes openly. He also accused the businessmen of robbing the people by supporting the ruling party that has the Prime Minister, Ministers, Chief Ministers and Mayors as part of their social responsibility.
