Life has been affected due to continuous rains in the country for three days. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Wagmati province has been more affected due to incessant rains.
Rishiram Tiwari, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs, informed that there were incidents of damage to Wagmati, especially in Kavrepalanchowk, Kathmandu and Lalitpur. Many small and big roads in this area including BP highway, Prithvi highway are blocked.
There have been many cases of blocking of highways and erosion of arable land along rivers and streams in other provinces as well. Now compared to other parts, Sudurpaschim and Karnali have received normal rain.
The ministry says that it has received details of some damage in Dhankuta and other areas of Koshi province. To the west, the Kaligandaki corridor is also blocked. The security forces and the road department are also working with the help of the locals to open the blocked roads. He informed that the ministry's efforts are focused on minimizing the human and material damage.
The Ministry has requested all citizens not to go out of their homes and to the riverbanks during the rainy season except in urgent cases. Currently, in terms of water level, 22 rivers have crossed the danger limit and 14 are in a warning state.
