The media has expressed solidarity with the press saying that the president of Kantipur Media Group, Kailash Sirohia, was arrested in a vindictive manner at the behest of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane.

Media Alliance Nepal  And the dailies belonging to the Media Society expressed their solidarity with the press by saying 'facts don't bend, pen doesn't bend' on the front page. Newspapers have expressed solidarity with the press on Wednesday in the place of writing editorials and special editorials during special events.

Similarly, daily newspapers have prominently printed the arrest of President Sirohia on the front page.  Annapurna Post, Himalaya Times, Rajdhani, Nepal Newspaper, Middayan Daily,  Economic Abhiyan Daily, Prabhav Daily, The Himalayan Times English Daily etc. have printed material showing press solidarity on the front page.

Annapurna Post made Wednesday's 'cover story' saying that Kantipur Media Group Chairman Kailash Sirohia was arrested in a vindictive manner. Annapurna has written today's 'cover story' on the front page 'Vengeful Arrest: Kantipur President Sirohia, who is constantly writing about the involvement of the Home Minister in cooperative fraud, has been arrested from the working room'  

Himalaya Times Daily has printed news on the front page with the title 'Chairman Sirohia arrested in Kantipur from the working room: reaction to democracy turning into authoritarianism'  . Similarly, Himalaya Times has written a special editorial on page 6 titled 'against the anti-press government'.

In the same way, Citizen Daily has published a news on the first page with the title 'Kailash Sirohia arrested, factor cooperative news: Sirohia Prime Minister's 'green signal'  . Also, he has placed the news on the front page of the parties taking it as a revenge incident. 

Similarly, Rajdhani Daily has printed news on the front page under the title 'Arrested from the Sirohia office: retaliatory action against media'  . Rajdhani Daily has published an opinion on the front page of Senior Journalist Kishore Nepal under the title 'Prime Minister Prachanda's Falling Face' regarding the vote of confidence by defeating the opposition party in Parliament on Wednesday. 

In the same way, Nepal Newspaper Dainik ' All-round opposition to the arrest of Sirohia: attack on press freedom! ' has published news on the front page under the title  . The newspaper has also printed another story on the front page with the title 'Free Press and Democracy: Media Alliance' . 

Similarly, Middayan Rashtriya Daily has published a news 'Kailash Sirohia Arrested from Workroom' prominently on the front page. 

Similarly, the new newspaper Dainik has published a news ' Kantipur president Sirohia arrested ' on the front page. Naya Patrika quoted President Sirohia as saying, "I will help the investigation". I am a citizen of this country . The arrest against me is not because of citizenship, but because of writing news about co-operative fraud . This is a blow against press freedom.'

Likewise, various online media have also written comments against the arrest of President Sirohia. Online Khabar has written a news comment under the title ' Home Minister's revenge and corruption mixed with arrest '  .

Similarly, Yuvraj Ghimire, the editor-in-chief of DeshSanchar.com, has told ' that Prachanda's government is burning in the fire of vengeance ' at zero time. 

Sirohia, president of Kantipur Media Group, was arrested from the office on Tuesday on the pretext that the citizenship number given by the district administration matched that of another person. The police team went to the office on the eighth floor of the Kantipur office to arrest President Sirohia while he was at work trampling the democratic practice of not allowing security agencies of the state to enter the office of the independent press. A team including SSP Sanukumar Bhattarai and SP Ravindra Regmi of the Valley Crime Investigation Office Kathmandu entered the working room with police officers including Bardi. On Tuesday in Kantipur, Gorkha Media published news under the title of embezzlement of 958.1 million rupees by four cooperatives, during the period when Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane was the managing director of the company, 803.1 million rupees were received from cooperatives in Gorkha Media. A large number of police were mobilized in the Kantipur office complex and Thapathali road from early morning.
