UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma has urged the foreign investors participating in the 3rd International Investment Conference to invest in Nepal. Speaking at the closing program on the second day of the investment conference on Monday, former Prime Minister Oli said that the laws related to making investment and business environment in Nepal have been amended recently.

At the opening session on Sunday, Prime Minister and Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Congress Chairman and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba also urged the investors gathered in Kathmandu from all over the world to have an environment for investment in Nepal and for foreigners to invest. More than 22 representatives from 55 countries participated in the conference.

In the closing ceremony, former Prime Minister Oli mentioned that the investment conference organized by Nepal from time to time is a platform for strengthening the unity of all political parties and clarified that he will re-emphasize development and the country's agenda together with development partners. Oli said that this is another conference held to emphasize for investment.

"Recently, the Prime Minister amended the relevant laws to facilitate the environment for investment and business," Oli said, "My party CPN-UML stands firmly with the government for implementation." For those who have already invested in Nepal or are looking for opportunities, a more favorable environment has been created for them.

Oli said that Nepal is now ready to travel at a fast pace with good governance and smooth transition from a unitary to a federal structure. He said that the immediate goal of Nepal is to achieve economic development and prosperity in a short period of time.

Oli told foreign investors, "Build a strong foundation for high, broad and sustainable development goals." If we engage our youth in productive enterprises, growth, job creation and poverty eradication will be realized. It is only possible with the strong support of our development partners and private investors.'

Oli said that this government's clear vision, unwavering commitment and result-oriented action plan to achieve its broad goals should be upgraded from LDC to 2030 and the goal of sustainable development should be achieved by 2030. He mentioned that the development goal of becoming a middle-income country, and realizing our aspiration of a 'prosperous Nepal and a happy Nepali' should be realized.

"I call on foreign investors to secure investment opportunities, make profitable investments in finance and technology, connect, transfer technology to domestic local entrepreneurs and investors for export to the global market through existing relationships and support," he said. He stated that his party UML is confident of the ideas and suggestions expressed in the investment conference and expressed his commitment to make the business environment more convenient.
