On Saturday evening, the procession started by encircling half of the country and bringing it to Indra Dah i.e. Siddhapokhari. During the fair and festival that took place from Saturday evening throughout the night and throughout the day today, pilgrims flocked to bathe in Indra Daha and worship Indra.
Nepal Samvat 218 Indradev, who was known as a powerful crown prince, built a large pond in the valley and took a bath in his name, so the name of this pond remained Indra Dah, according to culture and historian Prada Purushottamalochan Shrestha. He said that in the memory of the day when Indra, who was angry with Krishna, sent a huge hailstorm and rain to protect the people, Krishna lifted the Govardhan mountain with his finger to protect the people.
Shrestha says that this Jatra is also celebrated as the defeat of the monarchy and the victory of the people.
