On the occasion of Chaite Dasain festival, devotees have thronged the Shaktipeeths all over the country since early this morning.

Devotees are thronging the peeths including Guhyeshwari, Jagwageshwari, Maitidevi, Naxal Bhagwati, Bhadrakali, Shobha Bhagwati, Shwetkali, Raktakali, Kalankimai, Kalikasthan, Bajrayogini, Indrayani, Bijeshwari, Naradevi, Sundarimai, Chamundadevi etc. of the valley.

Likewise, it is reported that devotees have been thronging Shaktipeeths outside the valley including Palanchok Bhagwati, Chandeshwari, Nala Bhagwati, Palchok Bhagwati, Shaileshwari, Bageshwari, Gahwamai, Manakamana, Kalikadevi.

On the occasion of this festival which is also called Chaitra Navratri, there is a religious belief that if you go to the Shaktipeth and worship and do darshan, you will get power. Among the four Navaratras of the year, Durga Bhagwati is specially worshiped during Navratri which falls on the Ashwin and Chaitra Shukla aspects.

Those who do sadhana throughout Navratri perform special worship of Goddess Durga for nine days. Those who do not worship on other days, go to Shaktipetha and worship on the day of Chaitra Shukla Ashtami. On the occasion of Chaitra Shukla Ashtami, also known as Chaite Dasain, a special crowd has been seen in Shaktipeth as today also falls on Saturday.

Even on normal Saturdays, there is a special crowd of devotees at Guhyeshwari and Shaktipeeth all over the country. Astrologer Hariprasad Sodari, who is also a local resident, informed that on the occasion of Chaite Dasain in Guhyeswari, the crowd of devotees has increased since early morning.
