President Ramchandra Paudel has emphasized that all castes in Nepal have their own traditions, customs and culture, so they should be protected. President Paudel wished Sonam Lhochar-2861 after the pujaath of Lama Guru, Tamba and Bombo on Tuesday morning.

President Paudel expressed his belief that festivals like Sonam Lochhar will contribute to the strengthening of national unity in the multi-racial, multilingual and multicultural Nepalese society by increasing the sense of mutual harmony, tolerance and brotherhood among all Nepalis.

Paudel says that there is a large community of Tamang caste in Nepal which has various cultural diversity and Lhochar tradition has a special and very important place in the social, cultural and religious life of Tamang caste.

President Paudel stated that the Lhochar festival based on mathematical astrology tradition is an integral part of Tamang culture and clarified that it also reflects the origin, civilization, cultural existence and identity of Tamang race. In the

prayer program, Mohan Go, the coordinator of the Lhochar Mul Organizing Committee, thanked Tamang for organizing such a program for the first time at the President's residence for Sonam Lhochar, which is being celebrated by the Tamang community. 'For the first time in history, the president has adopted this kind of prayer at his residence. I hope it will continue,' said Gole, who is also the president of Tamang Ghedung.

For the first time, the President's Office has organized a program of greetings and prayers on the occasion of Sonam Lochhar. Bagmati Province Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama, ex-ministers and representatives of Tamang organizations including MPs participated in the program.

The Tamang community is celebrating Lhochar in the country and abroad for three days from today. The Lhochar original organizing committee will celebrate Lhochar Eve at Sainik Manch Tundikhel in Kathmandu on Wednesday and organize a large cultural program on Thursday. According to the lunar calendar, on January 17th, Druk means the farewell of the Dragon class and Dul Serap means the class. Sonam Lhosar festival is celebrated every year on the day of Magh Shukla Pratipada. June is the new year of the Tamang community.
