The leaders and workers of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal Saptari staged a demonstration by burning tires in Rajviraj on Monday evening, saying that the government is trying to trap Central President Upendra Yadav by plotting.

They became angry after the Supreme Court on Monday issued a order to proceed with the investigation against 130 people, including Chairman Yadav, in the Gaur murder case. Jaspa Saptari President Kedar Prasad Yadav alleged that the leaders and workers gathered at the local Gajendra Chowk tried to trap their president when the party did not support the government to pass the land ordinance. "The ordinance made to amend some Nepali laws related to land is not in the interest of the country and the people, but favors real estate, land mafia and brokers," he said, "The current government is about to be brought in with the aim of distributing Madhesh's forests, public land, to its party workers, and when it is not supported, Gaurkand was brought forward as a conspiracy to trap our president."

He also warned of a strong protest if this step is not taken immediately. "This is just the beginning, we should not be considered weak", he said. 27 Maoist activists were killed in a clash between the then Madhesi Janadhikhar Forum and Madhesi Mukti Morcha of Maoists at Ricemill Chowr in Gaur on 7th Chait 2063.
